Amongst all that is revolving around The Bellends and the likes it appears that the retirement of Rutchie has slipped through the net.
For all that folk like to portray him a fackin' cheat, I regard him as second only to Gareth Edwards for sustained quality over such a long career. Very clearly too a great great leader & if my mate Gordy is to be believed a top bloke forebye.
He is eyeing up a career as a commercial helicopter pilot apparently, I urge him not to, for as my mate Jackie in Seattle always says, "helicoptors? death traps" and always frowned at me when I told him about my trips over Grand Canyon, "you're a mad bugger Dave" was the kindest of his rebukes.
Anyway, 148 caps & lifting the RWC twice is a fine innings Rutchie, happy trails.

RUTCHIE
NEVER MOVE ON. Years on, I cannot ever watch Ireland with anything but indifference, I continue to wish for the imminent death of Donal Spring, the FIRFUC's executioner of Wee Paddy & Wee Stu, and I hate the FIRFUCs with undiminished passion.

So what you're saying is McCaw went into retirement unnoticed ...

You're a bad man BR. Are you suggesting he may not have come from behind the back foot?

I'm not sure he'll ever retire fully.
