Wales stuffing England, France beating Scotland and Ireland just about in the lead over Italy after a shocking first have, but currently making it difficult for themselves.

Looks exactly like how the big teams will go over the weekend!

- McBurney looked good again. Doesn't seem to be that strong a scrummager but has a lot to offer in the loose.
- McPhillips looked poor to average. Shovelled the ball along the line easily enough but has lost the kicking duties (seemingly from hand too) and while he does make an effort tackling, his hits usually aren't overly effective. Dropped a simple high ball in the first half that started the sequence of events that led to Italy's try.
- For someone who has featured for the senior Ulster team for the last few weeks Stockdale was very poor. Ran into touch too many times and was generally weak with ball in hand. Expected a lot more.
- Connon looked good. 4/5 off the tee and generally kicked well from hand too, which he did a lot of. Showed danger with ball in hand too.
You haven't seen me at my best yet. Let's be honest, you probably never will.

In other 20s action Wales destroyed England. England are 1/4 this year, reached Junior RWC final last year - must have lost a lot of last year's group??

Has Stockdale lost out by being on Ulster duty rather than U20?

In fairness he got a couple of hospital passes with no space to go down the line and little chance to cut back in

There was a comedy moment near the end when Italy almost stole it because several of the Ireland players just fell over.

Second half performance was much better (not wonderful) for about 30 mins with more aggression up front and pace in the backs. Then for the last 10 it fell apart again and we were holding on at the end really.

.
Was that after the intercept and chip ahead? The full back fell turning, but no worry, there were 3 green shirts getting to the ball in our 22 before the Italian. They all got there and fell over in different directions but not onto the ball, leaving the Italian to bend over and pick it up.

Can anyone explain/justify why the RTE coverage of the U 20s was blocked on Virgin. Were we all expected to want to watch England annihilate Wales or not!

Weird one alright, it was okay on Sky. Today as ITV have the rights to the Ireland game, virgin and sky will be blocked as we will be expected to watch ITV's wonderful coverage! Freeview viewers will be able to get decent coverage on RTE.
