If he was truely full of remorse he would have apologised regardless of it being caught on camera.
Precisely

Damage limitation kicked in
Garland dismissed it as top bants.
So Gatland is a big nasty racialist as well then lol
He has now had to apologise for calling it banter

Typical Gatland stuff. He'd have done better just to keep his bake shut from the start.

So gatland knew gypsy is not a race, then someone told him people think it is, therefore he is racist and needs to back away

So Rory Best is a doubt for Saturday, despite management saying yesterday he would be fine. Wonder if he will follow like all other irish injury doubts who are given until the thursday to prove their fitness....and not make it.

Never sure if this is some kind of crappy smokescreen or whether our staff are just crap at assessing these things.

Then again, we always hear that JS likes his team to have trained during the week, which is fair enough but then why give these guys until the last minute and then nit pick them.

No doubt picking Strauss if Best doesn't make it will be cited by Joe as further experimentation by him, even though it is actually injury enforced.

I think that depends on how important Joe sees them to the team. Best is by a distance the best hooker and will, I think, be given every chance to make the team. Also the fact he is captain will make Joe want him to make it even if he does miss some training.

The authorities need to stop gowlacting here and get this episode closed off. They are probably terrified now of the wrong decision and having the media and the moonhowlers all over it. Just f-cking get it done.

The back line selection depends on whether Joe considers the Scottish defence is as weak as the Italian and last weeks backs are capable of out scoring the Scots ?

My assessment is the front rows appear to be matched as do the second rows . The Irish back row may be better than the Scots .

Half backs appear matched the Scots edging scrum half and Ireland out half .

Centres appear matched but their performance can be influenced by how the back rows perform .

The only area of the field I consider the Scots to have a significant advantage is the back three .
The Scottish back 3 having played together more often in their picked positions may be more disciplined and less likely to brainfarts

But it has to be recognised that inexperience as a unit exists whatever the selection but would a change improve the performance of the Irish back 3 and would that improvement weaken performance elsewhere.?

In plain English can/will Joe select McCloskey at Centre moving Payne to full back ?

My answer is Joe is not a gambler and lacks the freedom to gamble !

Marler is innocent ...... apparently. I completely agree with Jiffy that on both counts, he is a very very lucky man........ and an utter fûcker.

Just a minor thought, how many knew that Samson Lee is from traveller stock? I didn't, how/why did Marler? Just a thought. >EW

Couple of changes in the backrow for the Frenchies. Le Roux and Goujon in Lauret to bench. Camara binned out of 23. Question is which French team will show up on Sat? The crap one who have played the 1st 4 games?
