Lost the eye in a car crash in 1972 Solids did play on after that but he of course was never as good, he admitted that himself. Had to sell his world cup medal to help his kids education, different generation of players to the nancyboys of today.

Didn't realise it was only six years after the worlď cup win.

A lot of guys in that era and before fell on hard times after their glory days. Sad.

Keith Flint and Luke Perry today then.

Not the greatest exponents of their respective arts but not that much older than me either!

Dunno. I thought Keith was quite innovative and a standout performer. The wife's uncle Gerry met him in a sweet shop in Newcastle. Had a good yarn despite being 40 ears his senior.

I know fa about Mr Perry,

Same here Justin, that’s what makes it all the more shocking.

Flint was fab though, didn’t really watch Perry even back in his 90210 days.
