I see there was a big fight which resulted in a few arrests within shouting distance of Her Majesty. Shocking stuff seeing folk all dressed up but acting like corner boys. https://www.independent.ie/irish-news/c ... 08344.htmlA senior Northern Ireland civil servant was paid £10,000 (€11,150) in compensation because he was offended at having to walk past portraits of Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip, it has emerged.
His complaints led to the portraits being replaced by a picture of the queen meeting Martin McGuinness, the former deputy first minister of Northern Ireland and ex-IRA leader.
Lee Hegarty, who is currently in charge of the Northern Irish Parades Commission, claimed that under human rights laws it was unfair to him to have to work in a place where he was offended by such portraits.
