He was Scottish of Italian extraction whatever that makes him. And no doubt he probably spoke with a heavy Ballymena accent after spending 6 years tending sheep on Slemish so maybe that's why Ruth thinks he was a bit proddie? Ponder and discuss with photographic or historical evidence where appropriate.

He's buried in a CoI cathedral plot so does that not make him a steel rod? lol

Along with St Bridget and St Columba allegedly. Maybe they're also Prods.

St Columba supported the Crues and Bridget was regularly over to Ibrox on the Seacat so you might be right.
