I see nothing wrong with males having opinions on this or any subject, I do have an issue with anyone male or otherwise, moralising and sermonising over how others chose to live their lives ............... Agen-le-tete accepted of course, I'd have him eliminated forthwith ........... or sooner if possible.

Must say coming late to the topic individually I am pro life but that view is coupled with a certain compassion for those who face the dilemma because no matter those who opt for abortion will always be faced in later life with the question " what if " it is unavoidable .
Plus I know many parents with handicapped children and consider the child to be a blessing . I also know woman who have gone full term for a still birth a very emotional and depressing non event .
I also know a woman who went full term and had the child adopted a really emotional sleigh ride though life that one .

What a shame Rum'n, all that varied experience and still on the whole you think that "we" are right to legislate that women will carry babies whether they wish to or not.

Baggy to be honest I don't the pro life is a personal choice not a public attitude if you can accept that .

Abstinence is not an effective form of contraception Rum'n. Great to see you also absolving the male of the species from any responsibility for acts that may produce progeny.
You strike me as not an unintelligent man Rum'n, so I have to assume it's just all down to a shyte attitude to women. It's a bit like the old classic which can be turned on it's head depending on your viewpoint - drink is the curse of the working classes.
Then again, it's a more serious matter & the consequences for women considerably more drastic than for men. I find it vile for anyone to consider that if a woman finds herself pregnant that she can just suck it up and get on with it ............ it's just ludicrous in this day and age for a large section of the community to consider it appropriate to deny what in the vast proportion of the civilized world is considered a right. Worse still to criminalise a young woman because she can't afford to go to England, whilst being entirely non censorious of the hundreds that can & do go there annually.
Hypocrisy in action. It's a Nawthen Aalind speciality. Feckin shitehole of a country.

Rocky
Plain English abortion is something that should left to the individual and medical profession not a political question
Secondly I personal would advise against it
Thirdly there are many reasons for abortion the most abhorrent being economic which frequent is the result of it seem like a good idea when under the influence

Baggy drunk men are as guilty as drunk woman .
You have assumed I blame woman I don't many woman wouldn't get drunk without the assistance of their escort .
The difference between the idea and the deed is the will and the opportunity and most men will try to create both . ( as Mrs Brown would say " the bar steward ")

Re: Can we talk about abortion?
OK Rum'n, let's indulge you and say that all unwanted pregnancies result from drunken copulation.rumncoke wrote:Baggy drunk men are as guilty as drunk woman .

Let me understand your view. Is it that as a punishment for "succumbing" to a drunken shag a woman should carry an unwanted unplanned pregnancy whether she wishes to or not? That should be answerable with a simply yes or no.
I'll have you know I have enjoyed sober sexual relations with more than one very sober woman. It may have been the old ways in your prime Rum'n, to get them drunk and take advantage of them, heading down the road to rape as that clearly can be, but there are other options. Of course not everyone enjoys my level of charm, but still.
