OK, so I'm looking at the Beeb News and there is a bit on the ParaLympics. Some lassie in a wheelchair wondering why the P'Lympics is funded just as an afterthought?
Let's face it love, it is an afterthought, it's someone's nice idea to give a window of interest to disabled sport. Full stop.
It's not top class sport, it's a sideshow to the Lympics. I don't doubt it may produce some remarkable moments, but let's call a spade a shovel.

Apparently the GPs surgeries are full of para athletes all trying to kid on they're far worse than they are so's they can get into an easier category. This is NOT what Sir Jimmy Saville Holy Knight of Rome had in mind when he invented the games (although that wee barsteward Harry Hewitt has since tried to claim the glory ).
