Callao Salvaje, |Tenerife
Heading soon for a week to a wee villa, with I am told its own dodgy pool, in Callao Salvaje, South Tenerife. It's just beyond Adeje and safely 5 miles or so from Playa de Las Americas, where I once had the interesting experience of spending a week. Does anyone here have any recommendations for food or drink or even things to do in the immediate vicinity other than sit beside our wee pool?

Useful link that I have found which seems to cover the basics but any particular recommendations would be welcome - http://www.just-tenerife.com/resorts/callao_salvaje.htm

I'm back. For the record the cheapest bar (no sea view, just view looking inland of both a carpark and a very unfinished/overgrown apartment block) was the Buzzin Bar. It was never buzzin when I was in it, but full pints of draft lager (Dorada I think) in proper full size glass UK pint glasses were just euro 1.50 - all day inc evening price. Also at euro 1.50 was the bar on the beach - best view, but served in plastic glasses that were well short of a pint. Best food was in the restaurant above the beach bar (same building). On the main street the English bar (Red Lion) and the Irish bar beside it were euro 2 and 2.50 respectively making the Irish bar as usual the most expensive to have a pint.
