You've got to get your first tackle in early, even if it's late.
Re: New players
The single most important player is a 2nd row.
With Matt moving to 6 we have only 2 for next year - Ryan and Carlo

Re: New Players........
Will be interesting to see who we get as compared to Leinster, a quote from Thornley as part of the Ollie leaving story.
It is understood that in addition to the highly promising 20-year-old prop Cian Healy, Leinster have lined up an international prop as well as a couple of other notable overseas' captures.
“That made me feel very special and underlined to me that Ulster is more than a team, it is a community and a rugby family"

Re: New Players........
Leinster are a better draw than us for any overseas player.
Players want to play for a successful team with the likes of BOD, D'Arcy, Contepomi and the other rising stars. They are also likely to prefer to be based in Dublin.
We will not be able to buy success, we will have to build it.
Remember we were a successful team when Kempson et al came here to play.

Ok we had just had a dire season, but we had won the ERC a couple of years before.browner wrote:Remember we were a successful team when Kempson et al came here to play.

Gerry Collins anyone....................

Collins, the current vice-captain of the All Blacks, added: "I am not guided by money, but by the desire of an adventure in a city which supports its team.
"I don't really want to go to a big city. In London or Paris, it is too hectic, too big. I would lose myself there."

If The Head bucks of Ulster had a brain they'd go for someone like Jerry collins instead of buying in 3/4 average player who will only make the numbers up, i'd love him to come here but the dragons (newport) and cardiff blues are apparently splashing the cash so he will more than likely go their.
I think when Mike Reid said Ulster were looking 4 world class players he was talking out of his Brennan and just wanted to plese us fans as he knew that there would be an exodus
