Bring him in for a year, have a look, see if there is real potential and if not, there is little lost.
There may be fixable issues that have caused his progress to be modest thus far.

Gentlemen, we can rebuild him. We have the technology. We have the capability to make the world's first bionic man. Bronson Ross will be that man. Better than he was before. Better...stronger...faster.

[quote="breakdown"]Ulster Rugby has signed 27 year-old tighthead prop, Bronson Ross, from Coventry Rugby Club on a one-year development contract.
Ross was born in Oamaru, New Zealand, but is Irish qualified.
He played for Dunedin in New Zealand and moved to Europe when he was 22. He spent two seasons at Boroughmuir in Scotland before representing Spanish side Guernica for a year. He joined Coventry at the start of the 2012/13 season and played 26 times for the club in National League 1.
Commenting on signing for Ulster Rugby, Ross said: ‘I have always wanted to play top-level rugby and so I am delighted to be joining one of the best rugby operations in Europe.
Might I suggest that if he has played 26 games this season as is claimed, he may not be as brittle as some other props or is it the case being in a lower level he would not be as prone to getting injured.
He has the right attitude so far when he is quoted as saying "I am delighted to be joining one of the best rugby operations in Europe"
Anyway welcome Charlie to one of the best rugby operations in Europe

He's played 26 games this season so t least he must be fairly durable.

If he can do well then maybe international honours await as Ireland do not have a plentiful supply of tight-heads. Less said about the Michael Bent thing the better.

Or Jack McGrath
Or Steven Archer
Or Fat Kilcoyne

Re: Ulster sign Bronson Ross
Don't both Celtic Rugby and ERC have rules on a minimum of front row players available and registered? Number 10 sticks in my mind. I'm going to guess this is part of that stipulation if Carey is on his way out, someone is needed to fill up these numbers. I'm sure the lad will do just fine in that role; anything more would be a bonus - Ulster's 10th choice front-rower isn't ever going to be on the quality level of the first...
