I'm still of the opinion that Robbie's issues are correctable and there is an effective carrier trying to get out. He is a big rangy unit who can pull his weight in defence. Bring in Fez to instil some ball carrying umph and agro into him. Not entirely serious about Fez, you can't coach what he had, but if Joe is a contact specialist, surely he can work on his technique. Along with Tuohy.

Unfortunately Snipe UR have had 5 years to correct it and Buck you're right, I don't think I've ever been this frustrated with the Ulster set up, it's driving me away.....

The guy has like 150 Ulster caps, what we've seen so far is all we're going to get.

I cannot comprehend how a guy with his physical attributes and skill cannot carry the ball effectively. If you were designing a 6 he would look like Robbie Diack. He's 6'4", 18 stones, has the power and the speed. What is missing? Is it in his head? Is it technique?

My impression is that he's just too nice! He seems like a likeable big bloke who would apologise if he thought he'd hit you too hard. How do you make a nice guy into a brute?

I think there has to be something in what Solids says, I think it's just not in hi character to use what he has effectively.

There could be a few reasons within that why he isn't capable of being a beast, but I'll leave I there.

I think he does not have the power, despite his impressive dimensions, that's why he's no good as a carrier. As for technique, there's not a lot in it really - just get yer head down, lower the centre of gravity, pump the legs and try your hardest to blast through opponents. Most of it would come naturally.
