When St P hangs up his boots it will be a day neah month of mourning in the Fleg house.
That will be the day they might as well empty the Ravenhill stands, lock the doors and fasten the shutters.
All we'll have left is the memory of watching our best ever player of the professional era.
After the Munster match last week, I had an argument with a guy that insisted p should be our first choice scrum-half. We saw today what would happen if that was the case. p has had a reasonable season so far, but the gap in sheer class between the Blessed One and him is wider than the Grand Canyon.

But it was a huge part of it!Russ wrote:For the avoidance of all doubt that is not why the scrum was a shamblesrumncoke wrote:Jackson that last kick alone was " cool under pressure " given he missed shorter last week .
The scrum was being cleaned because of boring and bending by the opposition who quickly established that a scrum time the ref was useless .

McCall, McCloskey, Pienaar.... but I'll have to give it to Paddy for the kicking, especially after the pressure from last week.

He's a warewolf.
Never wrestle with a pig. You end up covered in muck and the pig loves it.

McCall, most improved and exciting player this season so far

No he wasn't. It was Lutton, albeit with a loosehead boring at a 45°angle and a ref prepared to let him. Lutton wasn't able to sort. Interesting the changes in the pack and a boot in the Arris settled it down in the second half.UpAtSix wrote:Jackson, if only for the nerveless, flawless kicking under intense pressure. Honourable mentions to Pienaar and McCall (as usual), albeit McCall was creamed in the scrum in the first half.
McCall scrummaged well as usual. Has been bested by no one so far.

Thought that (and called it) myself at the time. Might not have made it into the corner anyway if the pass had been given, but thought he should have given it.pip14 wrote:Anyone else see Mccloskey miss a trick on 75 mins by not giving the pass out wide when an almost certain try was on? Not really, he passed to Scholes before taking contact.Amiga500 wrote:Kinda sorta like for Scholes try?Snipe Watson wrote:I feel he should be looking for the offload through the tackle as he always gets through the line and it's the way to get through a well organised passive defence.

Yeah, me too, though young McCall is clearly a popular figure.Paddym99 wrote:McCall, McCloskey, Pienaar.... but I'll have to give it to Paddy for the kicking, especially after the pressure from last week.
NEVER MOVE ON. Years on, I cannot ever watch Ireland with anything but indifference, I continue to wish for the imminent death of Donal Spring, the FIRFUC's executioner of Wee Paddy & Wee Stu, and I hate the FIRFUCs with undiminished passion.

In the scrum leading up to his try, McCall was turned into a pretzel and the scrum went back but fortunately the ball was released.CIMANFOREVER wrote:No he wasn't. Iirrespective of who was good, bad or butthoked in the front row, anyone awho does so at that level is a hero, even if they're crap. It's fearsome in there.
