Never forgiven Lacey for walking towards the East Terrace at the RDS with Clancey and Funky laughing away as they gave Leinster another penalty...

Well the Dragons' forum don't seem to be complaining about Wilkinson's performance.thecrouch wrote:When was the last time the IRFU produced a ref who wasn't completely useless?
Let me make that very clear - Dragons' forum don't seem to be complaining ! That is like being named World Rugby Referee of the Year.

So do I.OneMore wrote:I think Lacey is a good referee.UlsterNo9 wrote:Would you prefer Lacey or Clancy?Russ wrote: Welsh referee though
Every ref has bad days - some have more bad days than good ones. Some don't seem to have too many good ones.
Mostly they get more right than the spectators bawling at them from the sidelines.
In the overall scheme of things though, I think Lacey is one of the better ones.
Anyone can take one game as an example to make a point, but one game in isolation does not prove a point.
I'm not arguing -
I'm just explaining why I'm right

Remind me 9 how that worked out for us in West Wales? Oh yeah, they scored their try, that's right ............a bit like Glasgow with 14 men. We really are a stupid team, talented but stupid. If we had 15 minds on the pitch like Darren we might just win something.UlsterNo9 wrote:Think it's of significance to note that we are top of the Fair Play League with 4 yellow cards whilst the Scarlets are rock bottom with 17. If we can keep our own heads we should have a 10 or maybe a 20 minute spell playing 15 versus 14.
Could be the difference in what will be a tight game.
Dorty Scarlets or are we just too nice
And surprisingly I would have the much improved Clancy over any Welsh ref, even NIgel.
I know he's not our favourite ref, but without starting an "in fairness to ...." thread, Clancy genuinely has improved out of all recognition. I'd take him over Lacey any time.

NEVER MOVE ON. Years on, I cannot ever watch Ireland with anything but indifference, I continue to wish for the imminent death of Donal Spring, the FIRFUC's executioner of Wee Paddy & Wee Stu, and I hate the FIRFUCs with undiminished passion.

The man we keep forgetting, Ian Davies, I always consider him relatively inoffensive and definitely not dodgy. He'll do.

Is he the young one whose dad is also a ref?

Nope, that's Ben Whitehouse. He's in charge of Glasgow vs Munster this weekend.UpAtSix wrote:Is he the young one whose dad is also a ref?
You haven't seen me at my best yet. Let's be honest, you probably never will.

I don't think Ian Davies has ever been young, he looks like his mummy knitted him.UpAtSix wrote:Is he the young one whose dad is also a ref?

Aye, and he is already a better ref than his dad Nigel.ruckover wrote:Nope, that's Ben Whitehouse. He's in charge of Glasgow vs Munster this weekend.UpAtSix wrote:Is he the young one whose dad is also a ref?
Nigel was the embodiment of the crap ref, I always thought it apposite that his name rhymed with toilet.
