Don't know if it's been covered here before but what about the pash they serve up in the bars at Spanners? Heineken and Murphy's ffs!! Can Ulster not sign a deal with a brewer who makes decent beer - like Guinness/Smithwicks?

Too much, a brave few at Spanners, a wee soiree next door tonight & meeting two gents tomorrow, one from Seattle, one from Melbourne and there could be serious swallyin'.

NEVER MOVE ON. Years on, I cannot ever watch Ireland with anything but indifference, I continue to wish for the imminent death of Donal Spring, the FIRFUC's executioner of Wee Paddy & Wee Stu, and I hate the FIRFUCs with undiminished passion.
Re: What are you drinking?
Ahh Drink, that takes me back..... Those halcyon days before 'Mr' Cochrane at the Dundonald Cardiac unit tells me that two bottles of Jameson's every weekend and the odd wee bottle of midweek Shiraz, is considered by some as unnaceptable.
Now it's the odd Guinness, bottle or draught, never tinnies and a wee Sloe Gin the odd time. I'm dabbling in a wee experiment at present. I found a bottle and a half of Smirnoff lurking way back in our drinks cupboard and as a hater of this drink for women, I decided to spice it up a bit. I had left over Star Anise, my Kilner was brimming, so I put about six pieces into each bottle, along with a fair slug of Maple syrup. I'll leave it until Crimbo, which must be real soon, as the shops have their stock in now and if it's good, it'll be in the old flask at Spanners for 23rd Dec, if it's a minger, I'll talk it up and force in on all those unwanted visitors who aren't good enough for a Guinness or the Yellow Tail.

Tried the Golden Draak 9000. A quare drop, Burnt toffee apple overtones. Lovely.
