No home and away fixtures means this is a really stupid idea.

Teams with 3 home games have a massive advantage now. Teams with Italy at home have a huge advantage.

...and the possibility, however remote, that a team could achieve a grand slam and not be 6N champions.

They have that covered. If you win all 5 games you get an extra 3 points.

4 wins. 1 loss
Max points 22

5 wins
Max points 23

Feels contrived and artificial

Tradition counts for nothing now.

Looks like they made all this up and then a little voice at the back of the room mentioned that winning the Grand Slam wouldn't necessarily mean winning the championship. So they just threw a few points in for the Grand Slam to fix this.

All far too contrived and won't work with teams not having the same number of home and away games.

Change for change sake

Give them a few more years, and the top 4 teams will be in a play-off.

Personally, I'm not really that bothered. Never really bought into the championship table being the raison d'être for the home internationals.

They should just go like the 6 Nations B and give out a biennial cup to the table-toppers.

Maths a bit off here?

Do you not mean 5 wins, Min points 23
