Note to self, mow lawn on Friday as rain is now imminent after or during Saturday.

I see they've put the start back half an hour until 11.

We could start after lunch if Ireland bat first couldn't we?

No rain forecast at the moment but no sun either!
I may opt for two pairs of socks.

Bairstow warmed up for it with 170 today.
England v Ireland ODI at Bristol TOMORROW! (Friday)

Both matches on Sky Sports 2

The last 3 years of cricket ireland have been an embarrassment. None of the players would been first on the team sheet for any 1st division championship team let alone another country. The present coach is bluffer and needs to stand aside for the good of irish cricket and to give Doak a chance

I'm reminded of Italy before they enetered tge 6n. We finally achieve Test status and we're a joke. Like hockey the game is rising on its knees in Ireland esp.

Sadly that was all too predictable. We have an ageing squad who were decent players in their day. very little quality to replace them.

I would rather money was invested to make us a quality one day side as test cricket is just a birdge too far for ireland. There is no hiding place in tests and better teams than ireland have been found out at that level.

Results over the past few years have seen us in serious decline, with regular thrashings handed out by the test nations and several defeats against associate nations.

We have the structures and financial backing that we didnt have before, but not the players to back it up.

I expect there will be pressure put upon all to let england bat first at lords, so the crowd get their monies worth. That shows how far we have regressed.

It won't do anybody any good for Ireland to get rolled over again batting first.

Rashi's performance interested me. He's now 29.

Swanny was 29 when he made his Test debut.

Seeing once of the worst test bowlers in England get a 5for from non existent spin on a no turning pitch should tell you all you need to know.

Even if England bat first. They're top order will go out to make 50s & even a century. I could see Eng declaring on 300-3 at 2.30ish and then have Ireland all out for sub 100 by 3pm.

Is that any better than being all out before lunch if we bat first? Yes...but not by much.

We need to bin the heros of 2011 and unearth or poach some talent. Where's Jackie Charlton and his famous pint of Guinness when you need them?
