Scotland and Japan the two other "big hitters" in the group.

Gonna take a lot of spin to justify Ireland collapsing in the quarter-final this time around!

The Japanese will hold no fear of Joe Sugartits' Thai-Geisha, which is how they'll refer to us...

I've been to Japan years ago with work but would love to go back for a holiday. RWC 2019 looks like a good excuse.

I've promised the missus

Shame she's English Canadian so means we'll likely need to follow the Faz army around for a bit

The other sides in Ireland's pool likely to be Romania and Tonga. Ireland would face NZ/South Africa in the QFs if they get through.

As far as I can tell, Europe 1 is likely to be someone like Romania or Georgia.

"Play-off" is between another European team who isn't Europe 1 (like Romania/Georgia, Spain or Russia) and third placed Pacific team (Fiji, Samoa or Tonga)

Georgia already in, Europe 1 likely to be Romania. Based on most recent results the play off would be Spain v Tonga. Spain sitting 3rd in 6N B after '17 tournament behind Romania and Georgia. Tonga finished last in last year's PNC.

Glad we avoided England Lite.
