I agree that Rashid will have to work a bit harder for some of his wickets this summer. Having Root in charge of the Test team could be big for him though.

I'm fairly confident that England won't declare Herman and I'm sorry that we spotted Eoin Morgan drinking a pint of bitter....!

Nae bother. Even if he reached the point of mincing down the Garvaghy Rd in union jack underwear and a sash, it still must be hard for a former CUS boy to run his own through in an ODI.

Totally outclassed, but at least they made a game of it in the end. That said, on a muggy morning had we batted first it may well have been deja vu all over again - to quote the late, great Yogi.

Listened on BBC 5 rather than make the schlep across town. My Gawd that asshole Swann is some idiot. Spent the day laughing at Ireland as though we're anyway comparable. On KOB: "The hero of Bangalore...and not much more!" Guffaw

And again today.

Get rid of Bracewell and bring in Doakie as Head Coach... :stir:

Anybody watching the ICC cricket?
I watched Pakistan demolish the England bowling yesterday. A fantastic combination of subtlety and raw aggression. They are looking really good.
I've got a wee feeling that Bangladesh could turn India over today.

Ed Joyce swtched to England and back again at ODI level.

I'd have thought it was possible especially as test cricket for Ireland wasn't previously an option - see Kepler Wessels Aus/SA. He has ruled it out though - prob too much money and profile playing limited overs cricket for Engerland.

Morgan from he was a child had his sights firmly set on playing for England.

Even in the unlikely event that he decided to return, by the time he served his years of playing international cricket for no one it would possibly be too late in his career (although him in his later years would possibly still be better than many from Ireland at the peak of theirs).

Don't see him wanting to voluntarily drop out of international cricket for three years though. For Ed Joyce and Boyd Rankin, it was an easier choice as it became apparent that they were not going to play again regularly, if at all, for England.
