There is a means of watching RTE if you install Hola on yer puter.

I believe it may well be considered that Solids, but really all depends on how you use it. RTE is free to air, so at worst getting around "territorial issues" you are not actually stealing anything, no foul no crime in my opinion.
I believe RTE is Free to View; unlike BBC which is Free to Air. (In satellite broadcasting terms, anyway)

It does - sort of.

I thought you needed a HD compatible receiver to receive RTE even in SD.*

There can't be that many people who have a HD compatible receiver that does not receive HD signals. So ... is there a deliberate differentiation, or is it accidental?

If accidental, how come it was different for the soccer?

*That was my understanding, but things may have changed.
Right then. I have updated my knowledge with the help of google.

RTE2 SD only is broadcast from NI transmitters (albeit that you need a DVB-T2 receiver, most commonly found in HD boxes). Freeview 52 in NI.

RTE2 HD is only broadcast from ROI transmitters. Those with a multi-region HD capable device (e.g. Freeview HD) will, depending on geography, receive that on 803 (the 800s indicating it is from a secondary region).

So what MUM says is accurate. Doesn't explain why my friend can watch the rugby, but the soccer is blocked. Nor Rooster's suspicion of a post-Brexit jamming signal.

Of the two centres there is no doubt the more visible was McCloskey but like Cave he is seen as a one position option Cave was considered a 13 outside centre and McCloskey as an inside centre , who can breach the gain line . Given the quality of the Irish back row this not the number one réquisit of the inside centre at this time .

Carberry as outhalf is basically an none option because like Saturday he will do the twinkle toe act once and then be target for the day .

You can beat one man but in the modern game at International level the second will knock you into next week hence his broken wrist .

He has a lot of talent but as an out half that talent becomes wasted because he invites double marking .
O Gara was the complete opposite his game was predictable kick or pass and avoided the necessity of double marking and bar his assault on the Lions tour he avoided injury and he was able to control a game .
Carberry because he is double marked lacks the space and time to control a game and the closing marking of Carberry could have affected the Marmion’s game .

Makes sense now as I am on the 52 channel, don't have a HD freeview box for 803.

Watching on the net was a new one as my BT IP seems to be cleared to watch RTE online but the match was blocked this week.

Lying and greasy. Fits.
From the rolling glens of Antrim through the hills of Donegal we will stand and shout for Ulster as we win both scrum and maul from the lovely lakes of Fermanagh tae the shores of ould Lough Gall we will scream and shout for Ulster as we beat them one and all!

South Africa will win. Scotland might have a bit of a chance if they can convince themselves they are not Scotland for 80 minutes. England will wolf Samoa to death. NZ hopefully will utterly demolish the SS. We should win. France should win.

Anything less than a 30 point Ireland victory will be treated by me as a defeat

Bookies have Ireland -15. Boks were grade A crap v Ireland, can’t read anything into it. Ireland will beat the handicap if the Argies go AWOL.

The fact that the FIRFU sold the rights knowing full well Nordie supporters had no access to a free to air option pretty much sums up what they think of us.
