Seemed more to me a bizarre pulling out of the tackle technique, to me.thecrouch wrote:Bizarre tackle technique by Gilroy.
Got the feeling that Gilroy knew the game was going back for the penalty, so for some reason stood upright, didn't use his arms but for some reason, still made contact... Refereeing on outcome, as so often happens, might have led to more.
Re: FOLK
Given the decision for the yellow card after Charley jumped into the frog, which was a good example of refereeing the outcome, Gilly was lucky.
Not often someone as vain as Gilroy sticks his coupon into a place of danger.

Re: FOLK
Jaysus lads, Gilly did nothing illegal, not even in contravention of the Laws of rugby. Furthermore being a good lad I'm sure he understands that getting Cave on and Louis on the wing was worth his sacrifice.
Quiz questions:
1) If like me you believe Louis is one of our best and strongest tacklers, can the class understand why you would not play him at 15 when the current incumbent often doesn't bother tackling, is not great with the boot and is an exceptional winger?
2) Does the class believe many or any of the players would have had the presence of mind to flick up the attempted pass with a foot as Cave did?
3) Will the evidence of Saturday & the Munster game persuade FOLK that he needs to wise up and play Cave at 13?

NEVER MOVE ON. Years on, I cannot ever watch Ireland with anything but indifference, I continue to wish for the imminent death of Donal Spring, the FIRFUC's executioner of Wee Paddy & Wee Stu, and I hate the FIRFUCs with undiminished passion.
Re: FOLK
Baggy, we're not saying Gilly did anything illegal, but neither did the LAR player who was carded. Ref refereeing the outcome i.e. Charley on his hole.
With the Frogs hopping over to have a go a Gilroy immediately after the accident, it looked like he'd stuck the head into their mate.

Re: FOLK
I love a conspiracy theory ... so what if Charlie is playing 15 and not wing either on instruction or to give our wingers a better chance of Irish selection.. whilst Stockdale may look a certain starter he wasn’t in that position at the start of the season.. maybe trying to also give Bowe, Trimble or Gilly a better chance

Don't believe cave tried to flick the ball up with his foot but was rather trying to stop the pass. It was bit of luck that it flicked up, the quality was having the awareness to find timoney on the inside.
