You will dominate the scrums. Lineouts should be even enough. I'm hoping the breakdown will be strong for us. It's the first time we have Jordi, Best, Henderson and Coetzee playing together. It will be a good contest anyway.tigerburnie wrote:2 good sides and it will be close for sure, just fancy we might edge it with forward dominance and with a decent bench too, pity Vieanu is missing, but having Toomua back is a bonus and whilst May has been on fire, we have some speed out wide to worry you.

Heavy rain for 24hrs+ could mean pitch cutting up and a lot of scrums going down.Dave wrote:Wet ball=knocks on=scrums=painDave wrote:Weather forecast gives heavy rain. Does that help us or not?

A lot on how the ref sees that playing out - resets or penalties?
I'm not arguing -

Just what are you insinuating about the quality of the pitch?Cap'n Grumpy wrote:Heavy rain for 24hrs+ could mean pitch cutting up and a lot of scrums going down.Dave wrote:Wet ball=knocks on=scrums=painDave wrote:Weather forecast gives heavy rain. Does that help us or not?

I think it helps us, if we are planning any sort of activity over the weekend. For example we may wish to postpone some outdoor elements until Sunday, or leave a little extra time for our journeys.Dave wrote:Weather forecast gives heavy rain. Does that help us or not?

Re: Ulster v Leicester
Looking at the weather forecast last night, there is an area around Belfast that mightn't get too much rain. Mid-Ulster seems to be getting the worst.
Lowry at fullback, a tiny youngster out of his natural position, making his full debut in bad conditions is a risky selection.

Well it’s wet enough in BT9 this morning.

Baggy it is a major failing of many on the is board to only base their opinion on a players failings and his worst performances
Watched Leinster last night many of their forwards on first phase failed to break rhe gain line but the support players ensured possession was retained and quick second phase.
Its not only about getting across the gain line -- its about co-ordinated team work to retain possession.
Leinster ran riot and could have had a cricket score if the players making the break had remembered -- "break -pass - and support" -- when they had players beside them with time and space to pass . A couple tried to out run the defence and ran away from support and the opportunity to score was lost.
Its an interesting backline but one full of question marks since its the first time the combination has lined out.
