What’s the email from Glasgow Warriors about?

New era starting tomorrow morning or something?

Looks like a rebranding exercise, new name/logo etc.

Well they're still Warriors then.

With a new logo.

Looks like a branding change enforced by the P.C brigade gone mad.

The Warrior on their badge is now a Viking warrior and a quick video released to show the connection.

Could this have anything to do with Canterbury dropping Crusaders from their name? Doubt it but why else rebrand.

Did the English find the previous Warrior offensive.... the world is on its ass.

I didn't.

Edinburgh performed a similar exercise last year.

Presumably the SRFU had earmarked some budget to do the same at Scotstoun.

Struggling to see the point of this rebranding exercise, unless as you say they could do it as they were given cash etc.

Didn't know that the Crusaders were actively looking at a rebrand (given what happened in Christchurch their base of operations, maybe not a surprise).

The one the "PC" brigade you would think would be outraged at is Exeter's current branding with the name Chiefs and their 2nd team called the Braves etc.

Not sure if it is set in stone yet Neill but there is a bit of talk about it, as you say post Christchurch terrorist attacks

Personally I don't think they need to, but that's just me.

You would have to wonder how they came up with the idea to identify a rugby club with an 11th century religious conflict. In a 1000 years will they name a team after the Troubles?

Eid Mubarak!

Video appears to say he's NOT a viking - Glasgow Warriors defeated the vikings, apparently. (Home advantage and a Scottish referee, probably).

Presumably the previous badge looked too much like a viking.

New one just looks like a hairy viking to me.

Final line of the video tells you all you need to know:
"In 2019 a new era starts for the Warriors. Scotstown Stadium is their home - their fortress - and to defend it, they will do whatever it takes!"
They don't add, "and that includes cheating as and when necessary, or just because they can" :duck:
I'm not arguing -
I'm just explaining why I'm right

It doesn't say it's NOT a viking warrior (it doesn't say it is), it does say warriors defeated the viking warriors.

What type of warrior can be seen in the image below?
