Re: Ulster v Benetton Friday October 2nd 8:15pm KO
Very concerned on the Addison front; such a silky player, and such a difference-maker when on it.
Looking forward to seeing Lowry again at 10; the final and, to a lesser extent, the QF show that we need Plans B, C, and D; while I agree to a point with Rum that he inevitably gets turned over and ragdolled a bit too easily, at least some of that could be fixed with quicker and more attentive support runners. He's too exciting a player not to have involved in a greater capacity IMO.
McCann in would be great; could see Jones being given a shot after some of the praise in that 42 report. Hopefully we don't overdo it with too many young'uns in the pack - we've been tripped up more than a few times by Benetton without blooding deliberately untested combos at this level.

Ulster team to play Benetton Rugby, Guinness PRO14 Round 1, Friday 2 October 2020, at Kingspan Stadium (kick-off 8.15pm, live on Premier Sports):
(15-9): Jacob Stockdale, Craig Gilroy, James Hume, Stewart Moore, Rob Lyttle, Michael Lowry, John Cooney.
(1-8): Jack McGrath, Rob Herring, Marty Moore, Sam Carter, Iain Henderson (Capt.), Matthew Rea, Sean Reidy, Marcell Coetzee.
Replacements (16-23): Adam McBurney, Eric O'Sullivan, Gareth Milasinovich, David O'Connor, David McCann, Alby Mathewson, Bill Johnston, Louis Ludik.
A good mix of young and old. Great to see Lowry starting at fly half - hope he has a great game.

Hume and Moore has a lot of potential as a pairing, their skills dovetail pretty well together with Hume's great physicality and athleticism, and Moore's real game intelligence.

Young McCann poised to be the first player born in the 21st century to play for Ulster (although I am inclined to the pedantic view that the century didn't actually start until 01.01.2001!)

Looks like a great team- strong pack and very exciting backs- really look forward to seeing how 10-12-13 click. McCann on the bench is brilliant to see- hope he gets more than 5 mins!

I know that the injury list has forced Dan’s hand to a degree but that is an exciting glimpse of the future in the backline, let’s hope Balacoune recovers well from his injury to add his threat. Also great to see Johnston on the bench to justify to him his move north and there will be a few of the older generation in the squad watching this match with mixed emotions.
Let’s hope the fans show some tolerance to this combination.

I assume that the Arbitro Adam Jones is not the same Adam Jones who propped?

It’s him.
They bring on another ref after 45 minutes.

I'd pay Duncan Jones to do the last 35 minutes. Best haired prop combo ever to play rugby.

Richard Hill once made me stand up at a charity dinner on the basis that he thought I looked like Adam Jones.
I’m sure I’m a few inches taller than him though.

Should most of the Ulster squad not technically still be in quarantine after returning from Toulouse?
