IMO Ulster should have won, but the Tigers 2nd half made all the difference.
I can't argue with the final result, but the Ulstermen did us proud.
Saying that, who was yer Ulsterman of the match?.

Its actually really hard to pick someone as no-one stood out. The first half was easy as the tigers soaked everything up and made us look good. If I had to pick someone it would be timoney for never giving up and scoring a nice try.

Timoney was yet again excellent but for me tonight Hendo shaded it - he really put his hand up for Lions selection imho!
Hope is not a strategy.

Hendo was good, but I expect the captain to at least debate with the ref regarding a red when he sees his scrumhalf get knocked out.

I think it’s a case of Hendo knowing as well as all of us that he may as well talk to this guyJackie Brown wrote:Hendo was good, but I expect the captain to at least debate with the ref regarding a red when he sees his scrumhalf get knocked out.
as Pascal Gauzere. He at least sought clarification on a number of occasions, and approached him in the way a captain should, which was great to see.
Hendy did have a great game, the guy simply refuses to be stopped short of the gainline and is a great leader for those around him. I think fit Nick stole motm for me though, what a fist he is making of filling Marcel’s shoes, fair play to the young fella, he’s a cracker and is only going to get better.
Deflated is not the word

Hendy.
Because he knew it wasn’t a red and behaved appropriately.

I gave it to Mathewson. He changed the outcome of the game more than any other player!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Though Henderson had a great first half but then faded badly in the second. Not a captain in my view

He's not long back from injury so not surprising he was blowing hard in the second half. Not a captain, you say? how come? What does he not have that you think a captain should have?lovesthehardground wrote: ↑Sat May 01, 2021 7:41 am I gave it to Mathewson. Re: Tigers v ULSTER MOTM
In the second half they changed their tackle approach on Hendy. They just dived at his feet with the chop tackle and stopped any momentum. They did their homework at halftime. Outsmarted Dan et al.
