21-45. Ref blew up a couple of minutes early with a Saracens injury.

Take out the first fifteen and the last five minutes and it wasn't too bad (if only we could!). The first half was pretty grim but the second half (apart from the last five minute madness) was reasonably good, we seemed to up the effort and have a bit of bite about us.

On the whole, as Snipe says, pretty much what we expected

Unless the 2 coaches collaborate fully on starting line ups and subs bench then these games always ebb and flow with the changes. Sarries had the stronger starting 15 and ulster fought back well after their changes at half time. At 21-26 ulster could have gone on to win but the final raft of changes killed that. Was that a full saracens squad minus as the lions? It seemed pretty strong.

Excellent write-up in the Telly.
From the rolling glens of Antrim through the hills of Donegal we will stand and shout for Ulster as we win both scrum and maul from the lovely lakes of Fermanagh tae the shores of ould Lough Gall we will scream and shout for Ulster as we beat them one and all!

Basically the Ulster backline got sliced to easily --

I got called way before I finished

Compared to Saracens we looked extremely light weight in the forwards in the first half and some what less than fully committed defending the 5 metre line outs which are really a waste in a friendly match where players are seeking fitness rather hardness and avoiding silly and needless injuries.

The Ulster backline was composed of individually inexperienced centres and whole inexperienced combinations trying to play an expansive game against a frequently offside defence . Defensively the inexperience was exploited by Saracens running multible dummy runs in front of the ball carrier which is basically a form of blocking

I wondered who the ref was and reading the posts here was not surprised when i read it was Murphy a gentleman who makes up the rules on the pitch

You can lose the advantage of playing on after a knock on . You never lose the advantage of a penalty - play always goes back to to the point of the penalty infringement.
