I’m not sure the difference either but curious why the rest of the IFRU feels different afterall they are the paymaster and forking out over £1M for this…. Intriguing why they are proposing an infill that is now banned in the EU and seemingly refusing to consider any alternative.. only at UR could they consider using a surface containing a banned substance

One thing I'd like to ask about is why we're going for a plastic pitch. Who is the driving force behind it and why we didn't go for one of the hybrid ones like Munster.

It’s the way most club sides are going. Financial saving and a good surface regardless of weather. Higher tempo style of rugby played on plastic pitches.

To me it’s a no brainer.

Koth. … my understanding is that both Thomond and the Sportsgrounds as well as the Avia are all hybrid pitches making this the only full 3G for the IRFU… also the rubber crumb infill required for it has now been banned in the EU meaning they will have to change it anyhow … also re last point UR knew this ban was coming and indeed that it is now in place but they have been sitting on this proposal for best part of last year…

We are supposed to be out of the EU, surely it would only matter if we cut the pitch up to be exported to Dublin or something random like that?

Connacht’s pitch isn’t hybrid.

Yup Connacht have full plastic, similar to Donnybrook or Musgrave Park OR Glasgow / Edinburgh / Cardiff in URC.

Thomond Park is the hybrid model the same as Murrayfield / Lansdowne Road / Millenium Stadium / Twickenham / Dave Parade / Swansea dot com stadium (Ospreys).

Mi5 the only hope of getting any info out of UR that they don’t want to give. Eg comprehensive injury updates, f clear financial situation, wages bill ( playing and non playing) etc etc

End of season was deflating.

There were a number of areas of progress though. 3rd to 2nd, win more matches, had more points, scored more tries.

‘We were unfortunate to go out at that stage’ - if I picked that up correctly and Ulster are using the term ‘unfortunate’ in any way connected to the quarter final result then I have absolutely no faith in anyone connected to the club in looking at the season with the ruthlessness that is required. I know he used other terms like disappointing but in no way was that result unfortunate.

You do know that unfortunate can (and does) mean “regrettable” and/or “lamentable” right?
