The main issue here is that there can be no reason other that our 13/14 yos are eventually getting stuffed by ALL the other provinces 17/18/19 yos unless it is the development and coaching.
Must be solvable without Hammers extreme solution!!

Teachers are teachers at the end of the day and aren’t any different from the rest of the public sector. Most Will do as little as as they can get away with yet moan that they’re hard done by. Expecting any decent results from anything Civil servant led is always going to be hit and miss.

Or maybe they have to prioritise what they are actually paid to do?

If the Ulster Branch want to create a rugby conveyor belt in schools they are going to have to pay for it. Or will they behave like the government and expect more for nothing?

Education is chronically underfunded. No one seems to care though and if they do then they blame the teachers. You should be demanding better.

I think we are all agreed that IT needs to put more money into schools rugby in the form d of personnel and coaching and rewarding those staff who want it. So how to fund this?
Increased admission prices?
Fewer UR admin and overheads staff?
Smaller panel getting paid?
Less lucrative contracts?
I don't know enough about UR finances to make any specific suggestions, and the last time I looked at the UR Anuual report I didn't feel any the wiser.

So, how much do we need., And how will we get it?

I think they need to look at recruitment. Not sure signing NIQ players on 400k a year is the best use of resources anymore.
