I would have concerns about someone who went to the same school as Stanley Johnston. Hopefully Lorcan can put that setback aside . Not a bad selection however. Great to see Wilson getting his chance at such a young age for a no. 3

Suftum19 fair points re selection and agree hugely about Marty Moore his loss last year was a real disaster not only for his scrummaging but perhaps more for his ability to pop up at the right place and use his delicate handling touch. A much over looked player.

A calypso would be a fitting tribute to that old cultural appropriator, Lance Percival.

In this day and age, I would never dream of encouraging anyone to search YouTube for ‘The Maharajah of Brum’.

And at least Wilson has Herring, Hendo and Ewers to support him around scrummaging against a gnarly Lions front row.
Exterminate all rational thought

Just realised, four Wallace Boys in the starting XV. Wonder if that's a record. Where's Gusher when you need him...

Ballymena academy when Warwick, Rea brothers, Luke Marshall and John Andrew have 5.

Good chance at least 4 of those guys started a game.

Meant a record for Wallace, sorry. No doubt Methody, Inst or similar have had more at some point.

Didn't get time to respond to this earlier and I know this will be seen as hindsight but I never expected to see such a light team as this with such a strong bench . Glad to see that Mc F doesn't read here!!

Just read the IT piece on the Ulster vLions game and really surprised that within the waffle there was no mention of the significant appearance on the bench especially after all the talk previously of the weakness of the Ulster front row.
For those that don’t understand the significance pity and shame.

Significance?

Marty Moore is okay, but he isn’t as key as you make out. His loss was not season defining (last season), when we had the other two guys still fit.

Tom o’toole is the superior player for me, but of course he’s also unavailable.

Hopefully Moore is in decent enough shape to last 30minutes tonight.

Seemed like a huge blow at the time but I don’t think anyone could have anticipated how good JTA was going to be and we managed fine.

Equally, it’s very good to see him back tonight.
