So much romantic / sentimental nonsense posted here, get Pienaar back get Payne back, surely they have to appoint Willie John McBride to the coaching staff and Jack Kyle is a shoe in to the head coach position if only he was still alive.

Who says romance is dead. Jimmy Saville maybe?

I’d like to believe that Murphy has been given a clear bottom line of finishing in the top 8.
With the sharks looking good to win the challenge cup we probably need to be in 7th to be sure of champions Cup rugby next year.

Sure but I’d cut him some slack on that, in the unlikely event he was actually given a top 8 mission.

Think Glos have won 14 out of 14 in the Cups this season so I haven’t entirely given up on them either.

Indeed Glaws was a classic Jekyll and Hide side, can't beat eggs in the Premiership / not trying and beating everyone in the Challenge Cup.

Great news.

Now we only have to sort out the CEO, the other coaches and a No 10. Easy!

Can't fault Richie so far, so good appointment imo.

Looking forward to seeing how he goes next year after a full preseason with the lads.

Excellent news. But he needs to be given the opportunity to succeed with his own coaching team around him. That might be an "after next season" thing though I fear when contracts are up.

Skills coach is already announced as leaving so at least one vacancy so room for at least one recruitment and perhaps a reshuffle. Maybe also a need to strengthen the academy / under age coaching set up with an obvious possible coach with under age experience from Exeter

He's 40 years old. A coaching role more likely.

It's effectively a 4 year contract. As in there is zero chance (barring absolute catastrophic performances/results) of it not getting renewed after the 2 years. Is he the right man for yet another 4 year block?? Hardly the world class option that was touted ... a very similar appointment to the McFarland one. A conservative/cheap option that I truly hope for everyone's sake who follows UR as it really has been a chore following them the last number of years. Torturous at times!! A win tonight and point v Munster would be outstanding.
