Good sides don't give you space .
Earls has scored 24 trys in about 60 games over 60% of the trys have been scored against tier 2 or lower teams .
Carberry is a player at least 2 or 3 seasons away from International standard .
Being fast tracked could be the ruination of him both mentally and physically .
He reminds me of Paddy Wallace having all the skills and willingness but lacking the necessary physical assets to deliver to the spectators expectation.
The own goal trys due to charge downs where due to inexperience and two stepping towards the oncoming opposition and as result kicking flat .
To kick out of defence an outhalf is advise to stand deep and static with a single step into the kick, this ensures Loft to the kick .
This was Ken Armstrongs advise to George Spotiswood many years ago , when Dungannon had to opt to a10 man game .
George before switching to outhalf was a centre and running on to the pass .

TOH can't defend. Walked USA in for their second or third try
Good with ball in hand but this time Rum is right, that wouldn't work against top sides

Only saw clips of the tries from the Ireland game on Sat night, but hard to take much out of the game as USA are a pretty average team. Japan should be a better test, but you would expect 2 wins given some of the squad flew direct to Japan to acclimatise etc
In terms of the other games, Scotland beat Italy easily in Singapore as did Australia v Fiji. The scoreline in the South Africa France game made it look a hammering, but in reality France paid a heavy price for a YC in the 2nd half as the Boks scored 21 pts in the 10 mins.
An England side with a number of youngsters got a good win over Argentina. Mr Solomona made his debut from the bench, scored a super try to win the game but at the same time, cost his side 2 tries with poor tackling.

Looks like Cooney not even going to make the bench. Why was he brought on tour? Was it to make Ulster supporters feel better about him coming to us? Make no mistake I like him as a player and he is an excellent kicker but I just wonder. No Stockdale!!!!! One of the outstanding players of the last game but of course he is only an Ulsterman.

Cooney will get a cap off the bench in the 2nd test. Treadwell a cap off the bench in the first test.
International scrumhalf and lock.
