Interesting read. All down to defensive systems.

Owen Farrell missed 11 against the All Blacks in the Autumn internationals and his Da is a defensive supremo.

Burns is dung, admit it.

True, he should have more missed tackles, given the percentage of possession Benetton had and the defensive system we are employing.

Such a load of pish.

We're trying to hide Burns in defence by moving him out of 10 channel when possible and he still misses a load of them.
He doesn't lead an aggressive defensive line, and still misses a load of them.
He doesn't seek to make dominant hits high up, but still misses a load of them.

What on earth fkking system is there that we are using that is painting Billy Burns inability to make a tackle in a good light?

Burns doesn't seem particularly great at any real facet of outhalf play other than the odd grubber kick.

Burns is the only “Professionally”
Experienced out half Ulster have at the moment .

My guess is that the Ulster management want to introduce Lowry to professional outhalf play gradually with about 15 minutes a game .

To condemn Burns when he is half fit is not really fair to be honest especially when he is receiving a service which is slow and telegraphed .

Stated previously Burns was on a hiding to nothing following the Ginger Prince and an existing fan base of the Midget in waiting .

Billy is taking a major one for the team. This will be taken into consideration by the current regime who continue to pick him.

Oh dear  who pished in your cornflakes!

Do enlighten me then to the defensive system we are playing Amigo?

I'll help you..... but just a little, I'm sure you will agree Burns is playing the same defensive system that Addison and Stockdale are playing?

According to the stats

Stockdale
Versus Racing made 5 tackles and had 6 missed tackles
Versus Leicester made 1 tackle and had 3 missed tackles

Addison
Versus Racing made 10 tackles and had 5 missed tackles
Versus Leicester made 5 tackles and had 3 missed tackles

http://www.espn.co.uk/rugby/playerstats ... gue=271937
http://www.espn.co.uk/rugby/playerstats ... gue=271937

Stockdale out!
Addison out!

Burns was moved out of the ten channel for the last half of the game because he was clearly injured and we had made all of our back substitutions. He has been playing on one leg for a month.

Do I think Burns is Dan Carter no, does Burns think he is Dan Carter no..... but lets be honest we have witnessed two decent tens in the last twenty years play for Ulster.... and a few capable of turning it on but not consistently.
