There is a outside possibility of a Newcastle v Pau playoff, but I reckon Newcastle will finish Top 6 in AP, could make end of season playoffs. Would not appear on Pro 14 site anyway, would be something the Lionels would handle in the land of chocolate and fondue!big mervyn wrote:Possibly a Challenge Cup playoff. If there needs to be a play off, then I've seen the 18th-20th mentioned as being the likely weekend (the same weekend as the Pro 14 semis).
That would be ideal, as we can then avoid the Royal Wedding street party on our road.

Re: Sooper Dooper qualification.
Seems ludicrous that Ospreys should be in a playoff having finished 5th, currently 20 points adrift of Ulster with just 8 wins from 20 games.
Surely better for the team that finished 4th in this scenario to progress automatically?

If/When the Saffers are allowed into the H Cup, the playoff will be 4th v 4th. The difference in the points between the sides can always happen with conference based leagues. One being stronger than the other etc.
Re: Sooper Dooper qualification.
Newcastle won at Tigers 99% qualified for H Cup next year via AP which is good

Glaws very bad, away to Sarries next week. Would need Tigers to win at Sale.big mervyn wrote:So,Neill_M wrote:Newcastle won at Tigers 99% qualified for H Cup next year via AP which is good

So need wins for Tigers, Pau and Oyonnax next week to avoid PO. Assuming Sarries will crush Glaws.
