Jallibert is the only Bordeaux player shortlisted for the ERC player of the year. On that basis and having got them to the semi finals, he probably deserves to win it.

I see a certain Jono Gibbes is being lined up to take over at Clermont next season, despite having 2 years left on his contract at La Rochelle.

Reckon he’ll ditch Clermont before taking over to head home for family reasons.....before resurfacing at Racing 92 in time for the start of the new Top14 season

Gave a horribly smug interview after the win last week.

At least Les gave 100%.

When Gibbes took the Job he had the promise of a capable team including Jackson and Olding -- and threw the towel in when he discovered they were to be ditched, like water ---by Logan --- The contract had been broken by Ulster before Gibbes . He didn't sign on to make a silk purse out of a sows ear.

Er OK.

That’s fine then.

Although he said he was leaving halfway through the trial...

English referee doing his best to ensure that Leinster don’t make the final
A very soft yellow card followed by a rediculously long advantage
It’s time advantage was limited to 5 or 6 phases

Leinster are disgustingly cynical at every ruck. Lying wrong side, standing on wrong side blocking sightlines and disrupting the opposition attack.

If La Rochelle beat Toulouse they can out an asterisk on their shirts.

That was a super display by La Rochelle. They simply out muscled us in the second half and starved Leinster of possession.

If Leinster can win the Pro 14 in a canter then there need to be alarm bells going off in the Celtic nations. Quick ruck ball is not possible if you don't have possession. The answer for Leinster is to buy a couple of massive units from the SH which the club has potential resources to do but is not good for the rest of the league.

The rest of the Pro 12 simply cannot match the budgets of the French or English sides. Nothing will change that. Leinster will not be allowed to do that. That would result in too much Irish talent being blocked as Leinster is where most of the talent is. You would need a revolution away from the FIRFU.

Basically Leinster got Leinstered -- LaR waited for the penalties put Leinster inside their own 22 and played to a big pack

Coached by Leo Leinster play on the edge of legality when in possession -- frequently in from the side and over the top holding etc they do it in their sleep and once a referee identifies the flaws they can be in trouble. It didn't help Leinster that a coach was well versed the Leinster game and how to expose their breakdown game.

Here's an interesting article on La Rochelle. Looks like they're a proper club.

Good on them.
