Edit - We won against Connacht - they had it wrong on the IRFU website last evening but have changed it. That's two days with three wins out of four.

Re: Any word on the Academy?
These few weeks seem to have been excellent results. Are they as good as an know-nothing onlooker like me thinks?
Re: Any word on the Academy?
Ulster A playing Munster at home on Sat Dec 12 4:30pm and away to Connacht on Fri Dec 18 1pm.
The Munster game in theory could be used as the 3rd game of Treadwell's ban.

Is Treadwell not suspended for three weeks and not three matches?
Re: Any word on the Academy?
Cardiff Blues used the loophole of using an A game to soak up a ban earlier in the season, so that Josh Turnbull who was banned till Nov 3rd, played v Ulster on Nov 2nd!firebell53 wrote: ↑Wed Dec 02, 2020 12:01 am Is Treadwell not suspended for three weeks and not three matches?
Ulster have 2 A games scheduled between the Toulouse and Gloucester games.

Treadwell is not free to play until midnight 19th December so he will miss both European matches.

See my previous post where the Cardiff player played against Ulster before his ban was scheduled to be over due to the A game!firebell53 wrote: ↑Wed Dec 02, 2020 12:13 pm Treadwell is not free to play until midnight 19th December so he will miss both European matches.

This article explains it well.
Good to see a bit of a spat here, it's been a while since there has been anything close to a BIG FIGHT BIG FIGHT !
The assumption has to be 3 weeks or 3 games whatever is the lesser of the two?

Just providing evidence of what our Welsh cousins did in a similar situation , if that is considered lively this forum has got very quietUlsterNo9 wrote: ↑Wed Dec 02, 2020 4:21 pm https://www.walesonline.co.uk/sport/rug ... s-19173099

I wonder whether Ulster will exploit this loophole or whether they will consider a cynical / professional use of the rules and decide it is not in the "spirit of the rules" etc
Re: Any word on the Academy?
Personally I hope that Ulster don’t stoop to the Welsh level. Find it quite ironic after the comments about Irish teams cheating in the league which are so prevalent on Welsh sites
