Re: Cricket season
I have a question for those keen cricket watchers amongst us:
In a situation like today when play is over by 1pm on a Saturday - do the bars in the ground stay open for the rest of the day?

Yes, but you get various refunds on your ticket depending on how many overs bowled. I believe if 30 overs are bowled it is considered a full days play.

I suspect the boys will be more worried about the bar closing than the possibility of refunds. Sorrows need to be drowned.

Does Perpignan have a cricket team?

Not required. The ECB show they have a pair of balls and reinstate a not guilty member of their squad.

Thought it was a bit strange that we didn't hear any testimony from the two gay lads.

In D4 not raping someone is worse than actually assaulting someone.

I did as well. Was thinking their testimony would be key given how on one hand stokes was abusing them while defending them on the other. Tbh from the cctv footage I thought he would have got done but again we didn't get to see the entire incident.big mervyn wrote:Thought it was a bit strange that we didn't hear any testimony from the two gay lads.

I don't think the 2 guys would have done the defence much good. The interview I saw with them said -to paraphrase - it all kicked off, I was scared.jean valjean wrote:I did as well. As this was an affray charge (not an assault charge) the fewer people who were scared by the actions of the accused; the better for their defence.
Re: Cricket season
To me they sounded like they wanted Stokes to get off. If their testimony helped the prosecution (even if primarily that of the co-accused) they have been reluctant witnesses.Dave wrote:Perhaps they didn't want to.
