Murphy also confirmed that Munster back Josh Costello had been called up to the squad, while Harry West, who was due to start at full-back tomorrow against Fiji, was injured in training. His place is taken by Henry McErlean, while Hugh Gavin is among the replacements.

Quite enjoying this championship. Might take a look at the U20s Trophy when it starts in a few weeks. I guess the Scots should be favourites.

Youre thinking of James ( Jim) Nicholson...
James Craig didn't make the squad, and Brookeborough will only play on an Ulster team frae Ulster folk only..
Was Gerry named in the Provisional squad for the tournament?
He was never in the (death) squad ..

Paragliding accident.
That's tragic news. Especially after the 2 young lads from Dublin dying in Greece. Tough on the under 20's squad.

Today's match is completely overshadowed by tragedy. It puts sport in perspective.

Ireland 20s 47-27 Fiji 20s, they win the group and will likely face the winner of Pool C.

South Africa v Argentina at 6pm later.

If South Africa win, it will be South Africa, If Argentina win MINUS a BP / it is a draw, it will be Georgia. If Argentina win WITH a BP, it will be Argentina.

100%. Ireland u20s have some sad history. Remember young McCall (Brian's nephew) passing on the pitch in SA was it, back in the noughties.

I guess South Africa qualified ahead of Georgia because they won the game between the two.

Georgia must be very pleased with their performace in the tournament.

Yes, head to head was the first tie breaker. Argentina had to get a bonus point win to get to 10 points as they had lost to Georgia, but South Africa just needed a standard win to get to 9 points.
