JIzzer, you have me reaching for the Kleenex, I never thought life could be so miserable and predictable.

I have always intended to grow old disgracefully, that is why the saintly Mrs T & I are about to head away on a new adventure, been through all the usual stages of marriage parenthood, losing parents and now its time for a change, a healthier life and a new challenge. To me among my many reasons, I know I will be at least a stone lighter 12 months hence due to better diet, more active life & actually giving a feck about life, I've been marking time for far too long.

I know the big reason, amongst a few, why more people don't do it is probably their fears of the unknown & how their relationship may or may not cope with new pressures such as language, making friends and that sort of thing, but I tell you true Jizz, I was ready to do this 5-6 years ago, circumstances were never just right, now I bustin' to get away and start living.

Fair play Bagster but the thought of me going anywhere with my wife as a sole companion for the rest of my days would potentially turn paradise, never mind Spain, into the third circle of hell for me.

I'd choose a Civil Partnership. Oh hang on ... I can't because the feckin Labour Party are fascist batsards, who discriminate about different kinds of love.

Yeah. Ideally we would not need to choose anything at all which would be my ideal. No privilege for legal marriage in legal terms etc.

However as we are where we are it it is unacceptable to deny anyone the right to legal marriage, just as it is unacceptable to deny any legal rights from any citizen.

I can understand your grump about any form of legal partnership carrying any monetary privilege over singletons BR, but it was brought about through the best of intentions, to-wit:

1) statistics have shown for decades that marriage is the most stable type of relationships, governments have decided to promote marriage & amongst the many reasons lies the wish to avoid "broken homes".

2) historically women have fared much worse in breakups so I have always suggested to my daughter that no matter what feelings there are about not fancying an old-fashioned concept of marriage, that there are important legal protections. I say this having had a good female colleague who was in a 20 plus year relationship, had traded in her well-paid job to look after the "family" home, only to be traded in for a newer model with little or no income.

For me, those are main factors in how the financial "perks" of marriage came about & I understand why & approve.......... but as for the fiscal imbalance, with women now more able to be financially secure on their own compared to 40-50 years ago, I'd agree that it should change.

Anyway, what about the liar Robin Newton?

I've long contended that Robin is a little boys name, any Robin reaching adulthood should by deed poll change their name to a man's name, like Dave, at no greater an age than 18.

My only thought is that wishing to hide in plain sight, Mr Newton the liar, thought that it would be fun to call himself Robin, short for PublicPurseRobbingBastard for whilst all MLAs continue to receive their stipend, the Speaker is in receipt of a greater income and whilst he is doing his constituency work like any other MLA, I assume, his larger stipend is entirely unsatisfactory, he has been several months creaming off the extra quids and hasn't "spoken" in months, least of all now that we'd like to hear from him about his tissue of false claims and damned lies.

Meanwhile, Mrs Arlene Fascist, as is her wont, is adopting the see no evil, hear no evil position about miscreant colleagues and whilst not exactly defending the indefensible, had she the slightest backbone she would sack him, but she is apparently unavailable to comment.

Watching the Fatboy last night, the consensus of the gathered politicians was that Newton had no option but to resign, and Jim Allister said he should have done so last December. I don't often find myself in the same camp as Jim Allister but fair call Jim.

A woman has been questioned by police and could face a hate crime prosecution after she waved a banner at Belfast’s Pride parade reading “feck the DUP”.

In a case that could have consequences for free speech and the right to offend across the UK, the Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) says it will pass a file to the region’s public prosecution service (PPS) after Ellie Evans, 24, held up the placard at the August parade to protest against the party’s policies on gay marriage.

The investigation was prompted by a complaint from DUP politician Jim Wells, who told the Guardian that the slogan constituted “incitement to hatred and potential public disorder”.

Evans, originally from Essex, confirmed that two PSNI detectives questioned her under caution on Monday. She said that in a later phone call she was told that the PPS would decide whether she should be prosecuted for a hate crime or a breach of public order.

“I said to them: ‘Why?’” she said. “To say this placard and its message was a hate crime is insulting to all those many LGBT people in Northern Ireland who are affected by genuine hate crimes on a daily basis.

“How many people have the PSNI arrested here for the burning of effigies of nationalist politicians or flags of that tradition on loyalist bonfires? I just can’t believe they have referred this to the PPS. I just thought it would be a laugh.”

Evans said that she held up the banner to highlight how the party that props up Theresa May’s government blocks gay marriage equality in Northern Ireland.

Could have sworn I'd vented on this previously. You are absolutely correct Merv, indeed on her behalf Rainbow asked the SS-PSNI how many people had they interviewed for very similar placards on bonfires throughout the pravunce over the last year, you know the ones, "Fu'ck SF/the Pope/All Fenians" select from a wide range and of course in other places.

The report is also incorrect that she displayed the placard during the parade because the organisers, aware of the requirements of the parades commission, took it from her before the parade started.

Of course, answer came there none. My best guess would be that some peeler mate of the clownish and endlessly loathsome Jim Wells, undertook to carry out some minor harassment on his behalf, because we all know that if the peelers got involved in this sort of thing they would never do anything else. Such public sentiments against politicians, in general, are run of the mill in this shithole, hate crimes against Naomi Long for example, never mind Anna Lo would be 10 a penny.

I also contend that it is the duty of every fair-minded citizen not only to agree with the young woman's sentiments but to say it loud and say it proud - Fu'ck the DUP" for they are indeed an outrageous political party who for far too long have sustained the 18th century views of a minority here, actively flouting and denying the wishes of the majority of people on matters that dusty old book says they should detest.

Unforgivably they continue to sustain the outrage that is the Speaker Robin Liar Newton despite every other party urging Mrs Fascist to act and the irrefutable evidence of his untruths as presented by Her Majesty's BBC. It is beyond doubt that his position would be untenable in any self-respecting modern democracy, his continued hoovering up of excessive public money is an affront to decency.

I keep hearing that we need the Assembly back to sort out the health crisis here. This is nonsense. The Assembly is largely responsible for the crisis. They have failed to address the need to overhaul the infrastructure because of local self interest. We have too many health boards and too many ineffectual local hospitals like the Downe. The only chance of this ever being resolved is direct rule.

If I am ever kicked out of Spain, the only country I would be comfortable with would be the People's Socialist Republic of Scotland.

It's the same logic as condemning the people of Gaza for firing a few thousand rockets into Israel, they are not doing it because they fancy a row against overwhelming odds, they are doing it for the simple reason that they are being oppressed by a hugely powerful neighbour who gets $3.1 billion in US aid p.a. 75% of which consists of weaponry rather than cash. Oppressed to death in huge numbers.

Effectively the Gaza fight back is like a bow and arrow against a tank, yet we are encouraged as a country to feel nothing but sympathy for Israel against the massed ranks of camel jockeys with their pathetic capabilities to defend themselves.

Frankly, I detest the entire middle east & encourage North Korea to nuke the entire area. OK I wouldn't mind if they gave some warning so my nephew could get out of Saudi but, as The President said to the widow, he knew what he was getting himself into.

A nation divided by the independence vs remain.......Sectarianism still alive and well in Glasgow.

You may be able to play the diplomatic immunity card with your accent but as a former lodger of Scotland my own experience is you'll still have to deal with the shyte.
