Re: Rainbow Cup
I was helping with a bit of painting and decorating at Pte Grumpy's house and we only remembered to switch on half way through the first half of this meaningless fixture. Thankfully I had finished what I had been aiming to do by halftime and was able to watch the paint drying during the second half.
A much more appealing watch than the rugby in this meaningless fixture.
Have I mentioned before that I'm not a fan of this particular competition?
Meaningless fixture.

I'm not arguing -
I'm just explaining why I'm right

Re: Rainbow Cup
If this competition spells the end of the ‘captain’s challenge’ experiment then it will have been worthwhile.
Re: Rainbow Cup
And for the now confirmed news that our friends in Treviso have made the final.

Re: Rainbow Cup
Benetton are enjoying a sensational match a joy to watch! 35-8 up with 15 to go! Making a total nonsense of previous Pro14 form! The Bulls look a shadow of their previous form! Great for the league moving forward!

Hope is not a strategy.
Re: Rainbow Cup
Marcel the Mercenary looking very average in a team that haven't their entire gameplan set to make him look good

Well done Benetton.
To those who knock them, and mock the tournament itself...... remember our own greatest hour in history was not based on wonderful form, in 99 we limped out of our group, had home ties in the knock outs.
We also managed to avoid the big English teams.....
Fair play to them they beat what was in front of them and turned up today and then some. The Bulls are a top side.
You pay your money, you take your chances

Re: Rainbow Cup
No 9 do not belittle the achievement of the team of 99 a bunch of players half of whom were amateurs beat the cream of the french sides and in the process made the European Cup the competition it is to-day . The crowd attending the final was substantially larger than any previous final. And by winning that team made possible Professional ( full-Time) rugby in Ireland-- prior to 99 their was no Celtic league worthy of the name and most to the players were only part time professionals training before and after work.
Within this carapace of skepticism there lives an optimist
