Re: Injury Update
Sounds a bit better for Tommy.
No real surprise that LL's unresponsive groin was going to feel the sharp end of the surgeon's knife.

Re: Injury Update
Herbie back doing some contact and a little scrummaging in training.
Lacking on the fitness front but outside chance for trip to Dublin.......... (very unlikely).

Re: Injury Update
As he would be an unknown quantity without game exposure, it's probably better to let him get fit for the new season.Mac wrote:Herbie back doing some contact and a little scrummaging in training.

Re: Injury Update
ricky lutton has hardly put a foot wrong, it would be harsh to drop him just because herbst is nearly fit.
Re: Injury Update
I'd say that's a charitable review of Lutton's season. He's probably playing toward the maximum of his capabilities but his game in the loose, grunt and general discipline are all things that we should be looking to improve on in that position.
That he's not made a significant amount of howlers or cost us wildly is perhaps a fair point but I'd sooner appraise his positive contribution rather than praise a lack of negatives.
Having said all that I'm in the camp that would have Herbst as a "break-glass" option at the moment. Would far rather see him get fit over the summer and work on his shape in the scrum so that he can reach the levels of performance demonstrated in his first season here.
Glad to hear there's no significant concerns - it'll be interesting to see Leinster's report.

Re: Injury Update
Rob Kearney's withdrawal against Treviso was more than just a precaution. Good recovery does not necessarily mean a fast one.
You haven't seen me at my best yet. Let's be honest, you probably never will.

That's a shame, Rob Kearney is Leinster's Jamie Carragher.

Re: Injury Update
Zebo and Kearney both injured and doubtful for SA tour
Will Joe finally be forced to play the best full back in Ireland in his proper position?
