He didn't have much choice with Bedford not really competing at the breakdown and overtime he got the ball there was a wall of defenders already set. He was very good for the U20's.CIMANFOREVER wrote:Curtis needs to watch turning himself into another no hands Luke bosh merchant.

Shame Rea had to go off.

Talking to some Bedford fans, they thought that their 16 was a psycho and liability.justinr73 wrote:Shame Rea had to go off.

If you are referring to the incident around the 69th minute, Dalton appeared to be the peacemaker, beckoning the TJ for some sort of response , which didn’t come, the TJ just bottled it in front of the home fans.
The 26 should have seen red with 10 minutes to go.

As a matter of interest is that a dual reappearance or a never-took-off-in-the-first-place?scrum5 wrote:http://ulsterrugby.com/team/index.php#.Wr_Hr0xFwcAJackie Brown wrote:Who are the precious ones?Cornerfleg wrote:Defo.... Never wrestle with a pig. You end up covered in muck and the pig loves it.

The one when he was rolling around on the floor with someone off the ball.Samstew wrote:Talking to some Bedford fans, they thought that their 16 was a psycho and liability.justinr73 wrote:Shame Rea had to go off.

Mind you, it was getting a bit lively towards the end in general.

Don’t know who the the Ulster player was on his back, on the ground, with the Blues 16 laying into him, punch after punch to the head.justinr73 wrote:The one when he was rolling around on the floor with someone off the ball.Samstew wrote:Talking to some Bedford fans, they thought that their 16 was a psycho and liability.justinr73 wrote:Shame Rea had to go off.

Dalton went over and was dragging him off when the 16 went loopy again.
At the end, deep in the red, I believe it was the 16 who went flying in on someone off the pitch.
I didn’t see it, that came from a Bedford supporter.
The TJ on that side was a joke!

Re: Ulster V Bedford
I think our medic got pushed over at the end and that it was their 14 that ended up with the yellow.
Decent performance overall but we got stuck going side to side in the second half.

Just watched it and that was what happened but he should have walked 16 as well for punching to the headjustinr73 wrote:I think our medic got pushed over at the end and that it was their 14 that ended up with the yellow.

Some perspective, a scratch academy team against third in championship, lots of old hands etc, overall a good result , for a bunch of kids

Agree, Kofi, a good few, especially in the pack, to be encouraged about. The Bedford pack was huge and our lads stood up to them very well. Less impressed with the backs, mind you, but would wonder about how well they are being coached. Would like to see some of the front rowers getting a chance with the senior side in the very near future.

Honestly, though they could have played better that set of backs just wasn't very good, out of them I'd only expect Curtis and Nelson (and Hume) to have long-term pro careers.rocky wrote:Agree, Kofi, a good few, especially in the pack, to be encouraged about. Indeed very encouraging from a forwards point of view, Willie has them well trained and dare I say it probably working better as a team than the sum parts of it which is what a good coach should always aim for.rocky wrote:Agree, Kofi, a good few, especially in the pack, to be encouraged about. Backs not great then again some of them won't be around next season anyway and Nelson is not really a 10 in my own view

Re: Ulster V Bedford
Just watched the game , not bad for a scratch team missing a few players in the back line and we could have stacked the team, if I recall McPhillips playe£ most of the other games so he may have made a difference, overall a good result and part of the learning , we could have went there with a few Snrs and won that game, but what would that have achieved, I just watch a few good players learning and looks good for the clubs future.
O’hagan O,toole, Mcburney O’sullivan Et al all look good in fact the pack stood up well and was not bullied.

What a lovely catch in the stand on the 18:30 minute, 09:55 on the clock, by that good looking Ulster supporter, who obviously still has it
