The fry at Slim's Healthy Kitchen was better than I expected, largely because of the Cumberland sausage whirl. Decent poached eggs but the homemade baked beans were nothing to write home about.

General Merchants is hideously over priced. Suppose the prices are in relation to the

I've been to James St South and thought it was as good as a couple of one star Michelin places I've been to, and cheaper as well.Neil F wrote:Genuine question: are either OX or James Street South as good as they're supposed to be, or has all this over-hyped in-flight magazine nonsense gone to my head?
So it's good but I agree with BR, it will stand out and be hyped more in Belfast than it would in, say, London.

Re: Belfast restaurants
I'm fairly rarely in Belfast which limits my coffe options somewhat. Ground is one of my favourite spots of the bigger chains in terms of value and distance. New Havan and Love coffee in Lurgan both nice spots, not that I dare enter Lurgan that oftenshamalicious wrote:Further out you have Middletown, Lost & Found, Ursa Minor as well.kingofthehill wrote:Established.UlsterAreBrill wrote:Best coffee spots in NI.. go (and I don't mean Starbucks/Costa, get it out as quick as possible coffee, proper coffee)

Coffee may well have reached Ursa Minor, but I'm fairly sure they're still struggling with the concept of hot water in Middletown.shamalicious wrote:Further out you have Middletown, Lost & Found, Ursa Minor as well.kingofthehill wrote:Established.UlsterAreBrill wrote:Best coffee spots in NI.. go (and I don't mean Starbucks/Costa, get it out as quick as possible coffee, proper coffee)

Randomly ended up in Bob & Bert's coffee shop in Ballymena a few weeks ago. Pretty good. I think they have other shops along the north coast and near the Big Shmoke.
