Amlin at least

Post by AndyB »

With the scarletts losing to the Saints, the 2nd team in that group can get at most 18 points, 1 less than we have now.

So that means that we have at worst qualified for the Amlin quarter finals.

Amlin has average teams in it (apart from Ulster if we find ourselves there) that we could more than likely beat H&A, beig realistic I dont Think we could beat Europea best teams anywhere but ravers....

we are guaranteed to finish as one of the best runner ups no matter next week IF, london irish, leinster and saracens win. All of which are highly likely imo, so fingers crossed.
Munster aren't home and dry yet cause they haven't got any bonus points, but if they were top seed i would definitely take a trip to thomond, looking at there team the only place they are better than us is 10 and 2nd row imo

Watching Munster who yet again are being very average, wonder what the odds are of us being either 7th or 8th seed to match their 2nd or 1st.

Having now taking 5 successive try bonus points when bothering to select our 1st XV, I'm just thinking that they could currently be made for us, Thomond Park or not.

I'm only saying ......right?

Damn as I hit the submit button KD beat me to that thought

The chocolate tea pots that mascarade as Irish and Metro mean we either need a result in France, or Gloucester need to win against Quins the Scoop or Toulouse.

I have horrible feeling we might lose out as Gloucester are probably a third team made of said brown substance

I think thats it, we'll only be going through if we beat Clermont. I fully expect Edinburgh to beat an average Irish team at home and Racing metro will send over their academy team or something.

Cardiff's win means a best second placed team will come from there unless either screw up at home, which I don't expect to happen since both Irish and Racing are out of Europe completely.

If Quins beat Gloucester now, that's the other from Pool Six as neither should lose next week either.

For us to go through, I fear it will be as pool winners, meaning a win is needed in Montferrand. If we do return home as winners, that should set up a home QF as well, giving us a very good chance of winning the competition outright. Will Greenwood has just called us the second best side in Ireland behind Leinster and ahead of Munster :D

The game next Saturday will be massive, cannot wait :red:
