Just referenced that on the Munster thread, bizarre comment which only leads me to believe that he doesn't really know what he's talking about after all.

Aye, but they also touched on how ruthless DrH is and that
if he thinks it is necessary........it will happen.

I think the comment about St. Ruan rankled more than anything, what evidence would DL have to suggest that RP hasn't bought into the Ulster Way??

Really bizarre comment IMO.

Did DL not say that RP had bought into the Ulster Way? ..........and as a result
would play where needed despite his pref for the 9 jersey.

No, the opposite. Just checked that with Mr WW ( who was sat watching it with me) to make sure I wasn't going mad.

Why, did you ever think he did know what he was talking about when it came to Ulster ?

The point of a dominant 10 is well made but Ruan's pass gives the 10 time on the ball.
Play ruan at 10 then you are going to play small p at scrum half a weaker pass ,occasionally wayward- head or feet passes together with odd brain f@rt.

Our current approach has been successful start Jackson if a cool head and experience is required at 10 bring on small p and move Ruan.

I think there may be a bit of a Leinster worry that Jackson is developing fast and could outshine Sexton in the suggestion as well as obvious that O Gara is a diminishing power with an ambition shared with others to make another Lions Tour

And while Jackson at the moment is an embarrassment to that ambition making O Gara look very ordinary,he Jackson would have little hope of a Lions selection.
Within this carapace of skepticism there lives an optimist

Apart from the Saints match, has Jacko had a bad match this year??? Leinster wasn't great either, but let him away with that, he drained that game. So why all the slating from experts that he's "not ready"? If anything I'd say he looks the real deal already - calm, collected, composed and class. Besides, if he's "for the future" then he needs to be getting gametime in big matches now, which he is. They're talking rubbish.
You haven't seen me at my best yet. Let's be honest, you probably never will.

The idea of the 10 is to control and dictate the game. However what Pienaar brings is that he dictates the game from 9 and, in my opinion, he acts as the 10 but from a position he works better at - 9. That way, while PJ has to make some decisions a lot of pressure is off PJs shoulders for now because the decision making comes from our 10. Therefore I think we dont really need a dominant 10 and Paddy is just fine

You've got to get your first tackle in early, even if it's late.

I agree up until a point-I think Paddy Jackson is far from the finished article with occasional performances in the past year letting him down-at times his place kicking and kicking from hand has completely fallen apart. But generally is most games his tackling and passing game have been pretty spot on. Given that ruan takes a large amount of decision making on himself-to suggest small p should be playing regularly is nonsense quite frankly.
