Tom Court leaving?

Post by davejohnston »

Gerry Thornely, the Gatland that he is announced Tom Court is leaving Ulster at the end if the session. It was just a bootnote in his article, but anyone know if there is any truth in it?

"Tom Court is to leave Ulster at the end of the season to take up a three-year contract with London Irish."

With Corbisiero leaving over the summer there's a gap at LH for LI and if it's true they have a lot of money to spend then Court wouldn't be a bad move. For Court himself, with no CC, it's probably time for him to think about getting a bit of money for retirement - wouldn't be a bad move for him either. I'd like to see him stay but if he wants to go then good luck to him.

Yip - if he decides to move on, best of luck to him. He always played for the shirt and despite some nasty comments from round Ireland was and will always be warmly welcomed here .... and Malone!

Proper gent to boot.

One, totally agrees. Ulsterman :salut:however I am a tad concerned re London Irish, that's possibly the 3rd or 4th ulster player they have had an "interest" in this year,

I was very concerned about a certain interest they had - but not sure if it was just a rouse to up his value, anyway came to nout and a nice contract here was secured.

The Not Nots are good for a few things ... upping the value of our players and a pension fund for older ones!

Best of luck to TC, he always did his best here and was messed around by IRFU going from LH to TH wish him and his family all the best :salut:

Mulligan has confirmed the move is definite. Tom Court will join London Irish next season on a three-year deal.

3 year deal for a 33 year old is like gold-dust. Fair play to the man if true and all the very best. He has been a great servant for Ulster and Ireland when played at LH. Nice guy to boot.

Mulligan tweeting the project may be a loosehead, pinch of salt and all that i'd say

At Tom's age, he wouldn't have got a 3 year contract here so good luck to him. Like when BJ left I was sad to see him go but pretty sure we had had his best years, same feeling about Tom.

Had heard this mentioned a while back but rumour had it London was not a great draw for the family, looks like cold hard cash for there future ultimately made the decision. So, no European rugby for Tom next year then :stir:

Its a ballix to have to loose both first choice props in the same season, assuming BBJ & Mrs C Hooks are currently discussing favoured destinations in parts of southern France, but hey, thar she blows.

Now for some considerable & tortuous period of feverish speculation about which props Ulster may pick up once the moneyed frogs have had their avaricious appetites sated. I fancy a bloody big Saffer, maybe two.

Aye, the best to Tom, and unlike BJB I'm pleased he's not going to a direct rival. To hand out a 3yr deal to a 33 yr old is something Tom could hardly refuse.

No offence BD, but I'd take Mulligan's pinch of NaCl before many other folks. Certainly it would make very good sense as we are considerably more than unlikely to get 2 NIQ props........................... if any.
