His barnet was just a poor wig.big mervyn wrote: ↑Sun Dec 03, 2023 11:10 pm Has anybody come up with a satisfactory explanation of why his eyebrows didn't match his Barnet?
THIS is what he really looked like - back in his Thunderbird days.
Not unlike Baggytroosers darling, tbh.

Der Kaiser ist tot
Franz Beckenbauer - Der Kaiser - is no more.
One of the best ever has kicked his last football.
One of only three men to have lifted the World Cup as both a player and a manager, along with Brazil's Mario Zagallo and France's Didier Deschamps.
Zagallo died just 3 days ago. Wonder if Deschamps is looking over his shoulder or not going out for a day or three.

Just reading the latest - JPR RIP
One of the greatest players in world rugby has died aged 74.
One of a team of all-stars in THAT 1973 Barbarians v The All Blacks - what a team that was. What a match that was - with JPR almost being decapitated a couple of times - but you just played on in them thar days. Not even a penalty.
One of a number of medically qualified players that many teams had and who, if someone was injured, would put a dislocated finger back in or put in a stitch or two if required.
or do I misremember????

They say never meet your heroes - I never met Fergus, and like a lot of people, I'd rather not remember the few times I met and talked to Gibson.
Was greatly relieved not to receive a bill for the few minutes I was in his company on a few occasions. But then again, he never took me under his notice . . . but he's not the only one to have done that.

Very few 5 min ute scrums either Australian rugby it was you put it in quick those were the days my friends very few attacking fullbacks like JPR then or now.
The lions of 72 and 74 great sides great players -- different game you ran to avoid the tackle not to run over the opposition.
