We might not be great at rugby but when it comes to arrogant little tùrds we are world leaders.

Maybe this is the sort of ruthless ambition we need?

Anyone seen much schools rugby this year? Quarter finals were last weekend and the semis are next Tuesday and Wednesday, unsure who the favourites are, or if there are any players to watch?

I would say WHS, but they have been favourites many times before and chocked when it matters. Ballymena probably 2nd best team and Sullivan could be the surprise. RBAI know how to close out Schools Cup games. Not a massive amount of stand out players. Lookout for Harry McKeown, Sullivan and Quinn Armstrong, WHS.

Think this year is a fairly open year, but hard to disagree with your rank there. It really is much of a muchness between all teams. SUS probably the weakest IMO though beating MCB in Pirrie was a very good result for them

Cunningham is the one name being thrown about the most from anything I’ve heard, I would say he is a shoe in for the academy but he is also fairly raw.

Jamie Jackson from Portadown would have been another candidate but word is that he has to pack it in

Jamie a really super player and athlete but just has had too many knee issues. Hope he pulls through as could go all the way.

Cunningham, from what I hear has been dropped of Irish schools squad. He was given a lot of time and space by the inst team he played with last year. Struggling this year.

He has dislocated both knees I think along with at least one ACL injury.

Most of the WHS 1XV are in Lower sixth, so another year still to go AFAIK. Quinn Armstrong and Rio McDonagh both in Irish squads recently.

Best bit towards the end when the kid from Inst caught a crossfield kick at top speed 5m out and then got absolutely smashed into touch.

Lots of very big 4 wheel drives parked up near the ground.

Didn’t see the game today. But look forward to seeing convertibles and tractors tomorrow all over the place.
