Thanks for asking

rescheduled biopsy in NHS on Wednesday of this week. It took a week of daily phone calls and eventually presenting myself in the Kingsbridge to collect a CD of the private sector "missing" scan, and transfer it by hand to NHS for uploading onto the NHS system.
Everything should now be in place................................

Any problems — 20 cores maybe normal for a first biopsy — but might be traumatic for the prostate and give rise to AUR if in trouble go to RVH

Who was the urologist ?

Met a man last night - mid 50s who was diagnosed -in February Gleason 9 stage 4 — it has spread to his bones his PSA was 150 now 12 - only 25-30
% of stage 4 prostate cancers live beyond 5 years

Caught early it is curable —better safe than sorry

Two key things, if you think something is not quite right, get it checked out, bate the door down at your GP's if you have to, get a check, a two minute ultra sound just possibly saved my life after I thought I felt "wrong". Luckily the prostate seems to be ok, I will be having CT scans for the next 5 years to keep an eye on the kidney cancer, but I'm in with a chance. My kid brother decided it was nothing to worry about, didn't tell the doctor and died aged 62, when he just might have still been around had he told someone before it was too late. Forget being embarrassed, get checked.
Finally, stay positive, this disease is beatable, I'm giving it a good shoeing, just like I did in the days when we played proper rugby and there was no hands in the ruck.

MDTs meet weekly and a biopsy takes about a day but given Prostate Cancer is the least aggressive I suppose those biopsies and files are dealt with last and covid put some cancers into a serious backlog.

Anyway my friend rang the bell -- and one of the staff said "I remember you looking at me ."

Some handsome man I must be !!!
