A few nuggets. Mr Ferris was mentioned and someone in the crowd offered their honest opinion on him.

Shop is closed for any new external signings it seems. Some injury news re next week.

No mention of additional renewals etc.

Someone did ask a question - "A certain journalist/pundit thinks Ulster are punching above their weight, thoughts etc?"

Can't remember exact wording of question.

This may have been in reference to Fanning?? Or the Ferris one??

Not sure why some of the supporters last night appear to to disrespect Ferris’ opinion. Some people certainly had an ‘attitude’ when his name was mentioned.

He has given more to Ulster rugby than anyone in that room, including the 3 guests and is one of the greatest ever players, not just for ulster rugby, but for Irish rugby as well.

His opinion will always carry some weight with me.

Indeed. And is this forum not based on the principle that everyone is entitled to their opinion…… which cannot be in step with everybody all of the time.
Most of the time I think his opinion is worth listening to

Everyone is entitled to their opinion. Its just some opinions are more important than others.

How can anyone dare to criticise UR if they are by definition brill?
Never wrestle with a pig. You end up covered in muck and the pig loves it.

Mea culpa! It was a reference to Ferris ( but Pete didn’t read that bit - I am abroad at the moment hence the question was on-line) . It simply asked whether the panel considered this a compliment or an insult! No digs at anyone was intended I was just interested to see where they felt Ulster are as regards the ‘top table’ of the URC in terms of merit etc. I thought Red gave a reasonable answer in his considering it a compliment given Ulster’s somewhat limited resources!
Hope is not a strategy.
