The talking is over, now's the time for Ireland to put recent performances behind them.

My head say's we've no chance, but my heart knows that's not true.

I hope you are right big man - the locals are gathering outside the front door now. I've a digger coming to build a moat to keep them out if we get dumped.

Maybe - just maybe we can lift ourselves and get some passion and aggression back in there.

"I don't think it's a risk changing the team if the team has been changed for a reason. It was a big decision to leave out Peter Stringer because he's been the heartbeat of the side for so long now - dropping him was the hardest decision I've ever made as Ireland coach.

"The harsh reality is that I think we'll be a better team without him. Someone asked me if that's the end of Peter and I laughed, because it's not the dog in the fight but the fight in the dog and anyone who knows Peter understands that he epitomises that."

Keith Wood has summed it up well...................

Confrontation, confrontation, confrontation. If Ireland are in the game after 20 minutes we will have a very good chance.

With you all the way with this one Browner.
I'm so confident that I'm even entertaining a house full of Englishmen for the game tonight - in fact I feel so good, I think I'll even buy a scratch card.

Head and heart say Ireland to win + bonus point with no bonus point for the French

this from Woody as well

I have reservations about Sebastien Chabal. Much loved in the Guinness Premiership and in France, he was dismantled by Munster last year.

I completely agree.

Problem with Chabal is, who have Ireland got to knock him on his Brennan in the first few minutes, the first choice for that mission is sitting on the bench :(

I think he has come on since that night in Thomond park and is a better player for it. Every player can have an off day.

He is a dangerous player however the French media have blown his abilities and importance out of all normal proportions and some French fans could be in for a rude shock this evening.... i hope....

Strangely I had a conversation with a French builder this morning, who had played in years gone by, and he just couldnt understand why we were putting "petits chats" out against their "caveman".

Like, how do you actually explain that to someone
